Our latest poll shows that romance and family holidays are an uneasy match – and that many of you don't think that should be otherwise. Our Valentine's survey revealed that 24% of you believe that family holidays are all about the kids and that that's how you like it.
On the other hand, 18% of you currently don't experience but would love some romance in your family holidays, and 32% of you find time for some one-on-one time but only in tiny doses.
If you and your partner are not feeling the love, we'd definitely recommend seeking out a family-friendly hotel offering babylistening and adults-only dinners, such as the Luxury Family Hotels group or the Bedruthan Steps. Another option is a self-catering complex such as Imagine Roussillon in southern France, which in addition to pilates classes and an intimate kids' club includes two nights' babysitting in its prices. Or how about finding a spa that does couple's treatments, in a hotel with a registered crèche?
But what of the healthy 26% of you who already insist on making plenty of time for yourselves even when you're away with the kids? What are your secrets and tips? We'd love to hear more, either in the comments box below, via our Forum, or on our Facebook page.
