Let’s face it, setting a budget for a family holiday abroad is tricky at the best of times. Are you looking for the lap of luxury or the knees of normality? A bargain weekend break or a once-in-a-lifetime-round-the-world-trip? Business Class or Reception Class?
At different times, you have different needs and budgets. And that’s where this rough guide is trying to help. We’ve split things up into three basic areas, named after three of the most famous families of them all:
- The Flintstones – 3* – where value is more important to you than luxury
- The Osbournes – 4* – middle range – nicey, nicey but not absurdly pricey, pricey
- The Windsors – 5* – king of the world – sod the kids’ inheritance and blow the lot!
Who knows? Your family may well fall into all three categories, depending on what’s needed. Plus we’re trying to be honest.
Yes, of course we’ll find you the very best value anywhere in the world at any time of year. And sometimes there are spectacular offers to be had. But we don’t want to promise the World, if your money would go further in the Lakes.
