A large country estate in Perthshire, Scotland, Crieff Hydro is great for energetic family holidays and breaks, with a massive choice of on- and off-site activities. The facilities are highly rated by parents, especially the childcare, but this certainly isn't the place for a quiet getaway. Some of the hotel accommodation and self-catering options are a bit dated, despite recent renovation work. There are also quibbles about the limited choices for the kids' snacks and meals at Crieff Hydro, especially when it comes to healthier options.
