Boswarthen is a family run dairy farm with 150 milking cows, 2 1/2 miles from the town of Penzance and just ten minutes drive from the north & south coast of Cornwall. The farm's tents are beautifully sited, surrounded by hedges, in a secluded field with the most stunning views of Mounts Bay including St Michaels Mount and the Lizard Peninsula in the background. A really terrific location for a breath taking family holiday!

Feather Down Farm DaysWhat to Expect:
from £195 in low season to £415 for tents for a weekend break, on popular bank holiday weekends. Midweek breaks and week breaks range from £185/£345 in low season and £439/£679. each tent has 1 double room, 1 bunk bed room and the famous canopy bed which would sleep 2 children or 1 adult. Feather Down is a fantastic proposition for a group of 5 families. Each tent has a flushing toilet, running water (cold only) and a small wood burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and various kitchen utensils (whisks, corkscrews, etc). There is a large cool chest that you keep cold with iced water bottles that you pick up in the farm shop. There are paraffin lamps with hooks all around the tent to hang them up as well as a hanging candelabra above a large kitchen table which seats 6.
on each farm there is: - An honesty shop selling provisions such as eggs, milk (fresh from the cow), bread, bacon sausages, etc as well as the essential boxes of wood and kindling. - A Feather Down hen house where fresh eggs can be collected daily by guests - A traditional wood fired oven lit once each week (or stay) for breads, pizzas, stews, roast chickens; anything you like really, so probably worth doing a bit of research beforehand. - The paddock a small collection of petting animals, for example, lop eared rabbits, chickens, sheep, and Shetland ponies etc - Bike rental a collection of bikes including child seats, but it’s advisable to book them before you leave. (plus remember this is a farm and it is probably not the same as cycling in Holland) Hot showers! Set away from the tents and usually near the farm house. Pets are welcome on, but should be kept under close control near livestock.
tents are surrounded by hedges, in a secluded field with the most stunning views of Mounts Bay including St Michaels Mount and the Lizard Peninsula. Nearby attractions include, legendary Land's End, St Michael's Mount, Levant & Geevor tin mines, Porthcurno Telegraph museum, Zennor Wayside museum, Trengwainton gardens, Paradise Park bird sanctuary, and Mousehole wild bird hospital.
