Sani is Superb!

We landed safely into Thessaloniki airport. The very first representative we met was our meet and greet from Western Oriental. She quickly guided us to our carousel for luggage and gave us luggage trollies. Our bags we very quick to come off and very soon we were whisked out of the airport. Our meet and assist took us to the parking space which our coach was to pull into 5 mins later – it was all very straightforward and not at all stressful! We had a relaxing journey and transferred to our resort of Sani. An hour later we were at our property the Porto Sani Village. Reception was very friendly and rather than stay and queue up in reception they do the work for you they advise you to go and sit by the poolside bar and bring the keys and resort maps to you. It was so easy. They explained information on the resort and how we can take advantages of discounts in the restaurants in the resort by being a guest. They seemed to know the answers to all the questions we threw at them. I was shown to my room which was literally like the picture in the Kids in the Med brochure. I had a suite on the 1st floor and as it had been raining the only negative thing I did notice was the steps to the first floor were a bit slippery. If I had young children personally I would request a ground floor room. My room was very well equipped with two flat screen TVs one in the living area and one in the bedroom. I had a lovely spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. I loved the little attention to detail! The balcony was a nice size and mine had a pool view and would be nice to sit out on when the children are asleep in bed. They even provide bug lanterns with candles in that you can take out to your balcony to light it up at night – they really have thought of everything! My room would comfortably accommodate a family of four, possibly 5 including an infant. The family suites would be suitable for most families being more spacious and having 2 bedrooms aswell as the living area. The only shame is there aren’t many of these at the property, currently there are only 10 of these in the whole of the Porto Sani Village! I was told of plans for a further 10 more of these rooms within the next year or two which is a great idea. The hotel itself had lots of families with younger preschool children at the time I travelled, mainly because it was school time and the hotel had good offers on at that time. I noticed most families with younger children stayed around the children’s pool area in the day time. On walking around the resort it was little things I noticed, the staff all seemed to love their jobs and had fixed smiles on their faces! The Bike Hire shop didn’t only cater for families with older children yet they even hired out little push along bikes with handles that parents could push the toddler round the resort on without them moaning about their feet – what a blessing! The Gym was very well equipped and people came from the other Sani properties in order to use the gym at the Porto Sani. The Spa was well equipped yet the prices are higher in the Porto Sani to the Sani Beach hotel as they use a more expensive brand of products so that’s worth knowing as there was big difference in the rates. There was a babe watch service on the beach where a nanny will look after your children complimentary for half an hour whilst you relax on the beach, they do activities etc to entertain the children which I thought was good. This is only available for guests in the Porto Sani and the Sani Asterias. I went to check out the Children’s Club which is operational for all properties on the site. Its run by an English company called PB Kids, the crèche runs from 6 months to 4 years and the children’s’ club from 4 years to 12 years. Although in the summer months they do operate some teenage activities aswell. The Children’s club and crèche were all in the same building with outside space (all enclosed) and shaded areas aswell, they had a selection of toys for younger and older children, musical instruments and a wide range of different activities. It actually was better than my daughter’s old preschools! I would definitely feel happy having my children using this facility and knowing they are in a safe environment! The properties also offer a baby sitting service where you can pay for trained staff who work for PB Kids and they will baby sit in your room or they do offer a cheaper rate of half the price if you wanted someone who worked at the property to babysit yet they aren’t qualified like the staff at PB Kids. They seemed to have covered the different options for you. I also liked the fact that there was a supermarket on site who sold your basics like nappies, baby food etc incase you run out of anything necessary for your little ones. The property does have things such as sterilises etc incase you don’t want to take your own, you just ask concierge and they will arrange that for you. The marina area was lovely with a few boutique shops, bars and restaurants. There is a wide selection of places to eat at night to suit all tastes! Even for fussy eaters such as myself!!! In the summer months they have extra activities going on including a Sani Festival every week where they get local musicians to play music on Sani Hill, local residents from the villages come to see the bands as some of them are quite well known. For me I could go on for hours about how great the Sani resort is, I would definitely go back and take my family with me, It has everything there that we would want from a holiday and would be as stress free as a holiday could be. It definitely was worth the trip!

Fabulous luxurious \"family\" holiday

We had a fabulous luxurious family holiday at sani. The hotel is extremely child-friendly and would definitely recommend to any of my friends with children. I would not say that this is a couples\' holiday due to the large number of people with children. The hotel and its\' staff were outstanding and always polite, happy and willing to help and made a real fuss of our small children. The standard suite was ideal for a family of four - we put our two small children to bed in the bedroom whilst we watched a dvd with a glass of wine/beer in the lounge area - we would then creep to bed later! The bedroom was equipped with two cots, although one was turned into a cotbed for our 3 year old - we didn\'t actually use that as she was a bit too old - luckily we had bought a blow-up peppa pig bed which she found really exciting to sleep in - we could have used the put-me-up bed in the lounge area but then we would not have any adult time (although I suppose we could have moved it). The facilities for people with young children were great. The room had a mini bar fridge which had plenty of room to keep milk, wine, beer, water and snacks for the children cool. Would recommend taking own nappies and provisions for children as very expensive, 16euros for pampers nappies! The beach is beautiful and the marina offers a very relaxing walk and has some lovely restaurants, 3 of which you can dine at for free if upgraded to half board - if you don\'t want to pay any additional charges you can choose from the set menu, which was very nice. Would definitely recommend going half board because the drinks and food are very expensive. All in all a fabulous luxurious holiday and would definitely go back.
