This campsite is within a short walk of a good surfing beach and within a short drive of a large inland lake. It is attractively laid out, with the sandy emplacements set out in and amongst the shade of the pine trees. In main high season it is a lively campsite and very popular with teenagers who love water sports.

Price

from £346 to £947, for 7 nights in a two bedroom mobile home. Prices are per family for 2 adults and up to 3 children (up to 18 years), with mid week Dover to Calais ferry crossings, gas, electricity and tourist tax included. Larger mobile homes or longer sea crossings incur a supplement.

Accommodation

A range of 2 bedroom mobile homes are available to choose from, and include the Focus, the roomy Lodge  - ideal for families with older children, or the massive Magnum (40% larger than the Focus.) Matthews France provides you with a comprehensive inventory of equipment in each Mobile Home. This includes most impossible to pack items such as, blankets, (duvets in Lodges and Magnums) pillows, cooking utensils, teapot, crockery and cutlery. It is all there, down to coat hangers in a proper wardrobe. Note that sheets, duvet covers, pillowslips or towels are not supplied.

Location

The resort town of Lacanau Ocean is about a 20 minute walk from the campsite and there are lots of bars, restaurants and bistros with their tables set outside to enjoy the atmosphere and wonderful weather of the region. There are endless cycle paths through the forests which stretch for miles. The vineyards are numerous and most welcome visitors. Bordeaux itself is a wonderful city and a visit to the Old Quarter with its pedestrianised centre is a 'must'. Most clients drive from Calais (584 miles), the nearest port is St. Malo (365 miles) and the nearest airport is Bordeaux which is just over an hour's drive away.
