Great customer service and a wide range of activities and facilities have parents singing the praises of Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire for family holidays and breaks, though perhaps its greatest virtue is its proximity to Blackpool and to local beaches and other attractions. In 2011, a new spa (and hotel) added to the amenities, which include a pool complex, horse-riding centre and boating lake. Many of the self-catering cottages are newly refurbished, with stylish modern decor. The best are at Ribby Sapphire at Fisherman's Reach, overlooking the lake.
