Default What's Center Parcs really like?

We have been twice now to Whinfell and really enjoyed the stay- midweek in march. We have 5 year old son, he wears leg splints but there is still loads for him to do. We have managed to get our chalet for around ?160 which is great price for 4 people. Had code and discount both times from ebay. It is very man made but for city dwellers you really feel you are out and about. Loads of activities and found the customer service generally very good. Some activities very pricy but things like tots tennis, cricket coaching, painting sessions, tri golf all about ?3.60. Pony trekking ?16, other things more costly so can add up. The swimming pool is great with loads of flumes, rapids, baby pool, tropical pool etc all under glass roof- all this is free. Would advise self catering as food not up to much and quite expensive, however most food places have soft play areas for kids and this is great. You can book nursery sessions and enjoy time to relax in spa or go to sports plaza. I would def recommend pre booking as we didnt do this first time round and missed out on so much- this time we planned ahead and really made the most of our time.
