If you're looking at the UK try beautiful North Devon, I recommend Combesgate House on the seafront at Woolacombe. Its a large house with accommodation on 2 floors, both with lounge, kitchen and several bathrooms. For Grandma the stroll along the seafront to Woolacombe is flat, opposite is the lovely Watersmeet Hotel if you don't cook your own Xmas Lunch. For the children - it's opposite the beach! and a large green for ball games and kite flying.
