I suggest getting a villa or apartment as then it's easier to work to your own schedule. We went to Mallorca and stayed at the Viva Cala Mesquida Resort and were able to hire a buggy from a company called Cosy Toe who I found on this site. Both highly recommended. I alsop saw a site called tinytotsaway who will deliver food, nappies, etc prior to your arrival.

Thanks Alex. Great idea about getting baby supplies delivered to the hotel. I think the things that has been on my mind most, (apart from the imminent birth!!,)is the amount of stuff we will need to take with us!! - Sue

Keep transfer distances to a minimum and, depending on time of year, choose a more accessible part of the Med. Mallorca and Menorca both offer an abundance of hotels suitable for infants, are just a couple of hours flight and you'll also find shops stock absolutely everything you might need. Good luck and have a fantastic trip!

Hi my name is sandra and I am from the company tinytotsaway mentioned in the above reply. We can be found at www.tinytotsaway.com and would welcome your comments and suggestions about our site using our contact page. We are able to deliver to a large number of countries, a list of destinations and our prices are available on the home page, you dont even need to register with us unless you are placing an order. All we need is a comprehensive postal address and you can relax and enjoy your holiday

Hi, Don't know when or where you're thinking of but if early summer then I would recommend Barcelona with a newbie. City breaks are great with tinies who hang around in the sling - you can get out and about and indulge the 'nappy brain' with a few cultural sights and all the things you could need (and might have forgotten!)are right on your doorstep. Barca's even better as the city beach is easy to get to as well. As you'll appreciate you need a few options available with a newborn and places to go out and about to are essential for sanity! The Citadines aparthotel chain (www.citadines.com) is great as you can self cater and it's just off Las Ramblas. Get the fantastic company above to deliver all the goodies and you're all set! I have a newsletter all about summer travel and this editions special topic 'sleeping away from home' so just email if you'd like a copy. Have a wonderful first trip with your new passenger!

We are now smitten with www.VillaJalon.com where there are five apartments in one big old house in the hills above the costa blanca. you can order a cot, nappies, groceries etc and there are toys and a sandpit and a slide for the little ones. guests can all eat together or can cater for yourselves while babies are all hooked up on baby monitors.. for us it was a real break but in an environment that felt enough like home to be perfect with a small baby. we have since been back with baby number two because we just coundnt find anywhere else that even came close!

I can 100% recommend this one, simply because on our second visit, after the second baby came along they provided literally everything free of charge including sterliser, cot, changing mat, monitor etc - Casa Arabella, Parque Del Rey, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote
