Mark Warner Ocean Club - Portugal?

We have friend that went to the Ocean Club last year with twins of 2 years, and loved it. The atmosphere was relaxed, English speaking staff and qualified child care team. The Ocean Club is part of a larger complex and not exclusively Mark Warner, although their services such as the creche and babysitting were available, even if you were eating out in the complex. They said that it was a great holiday for the kids, and gave them a rare chance to relax.
I don't know how this resort has been affected by the abduction of Madeleine McCann in May from the Ocean Club, or Praia da Luz itself? I think we would find it difficult to relax there. |

Mark Warner have some wonderful creches for little ones. Their Toddler Club is for ages 1 to 2 years, and is split into two groups, for one and two year olds. There is an additional cost of £230 per week for this service, with a ratio of one nanny to three children in the one year old group, and it operates operate six days a week from 9.00am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, (except in their Egypt resorts in which ii operates for 5 days due to transfer days and times.) Check out our favourite Mark Warner resorts. In particular, for short haul activity holidays with a one year old we particularly recommend The Latikira - Kos, Paleros Beach Resort - Greece Coast, San Lucianu - Corsica and San Agostino - Greece Coast. We can also offer you an exclusive free gift of either a Bottle of Moet or a fabulous Trunki ride on suitcase (as seen on Dragon's Den), if you book through us and send your booking confirmation details. See more details of this offer. Club Ocean, The Algarve, (and Egypt) are offering free child and infant places for September for each 2 full price adults, although you would still pay the additional child care costs of £230. We hope this gives you some more holiday ideas for September. Good luck and have a great holiday from the Take the Family Team |

We visited this resort 1 year ago and we were thoroughly disappointed. We have been to M.W resorts before, but this one seemed to be a last minute alternative when they changed the resorts. All the apartments are really spread out, so we had to walk about half a mile uphill for breakfast and dinner to where meals were served. Then take the kids down to a different building for childcare, then go and do our activity, return to get kids(uphill) etc , etc. We were shattered by the end of it and we are quite fit!)The kids clubs were ok although they are about a 15 min walk from the beach, so all the kids had to be paraded through the streets for beach activity. They also had to be taken out about 100 yardsoffshore to use some of the equipment and there was no pontoon to put them on.( not really applicable for your child though).
My husband only got to sail 1 day as there was no wind in 2 weeks. Not their fault, but you can't help thinking it is not the best position for activities. When it did come it was too strong! I know this sounds like a big moan, but I never ever reply to forums, and felt really strongly about this. We did not enjoy the holiday and that has never happened on a M.W before. I hope you get sorted and that this is a help.x |
