If you live south west of London and are concerned about ease of access to Eurostar now it’s moved you may be pleased to know that London bus route 59 is being extended to form a Waterloo to St Pancras link.
Route 59 runs every 8 minutes during the day and every 12 minutes in the evening on Monday-Saturday and every 12 minutes on Sundays. It uses double-deck buses which are wheel chair accessible (as are all London’s buses these days), so very easy to board when carrying suitcases or bags. The route should take about 30 mins and has a super view of the river Thames. It's also half the cost of the tube and is a direct route. At Waterloo, you can avoid the stairs by using the lift down to the front of the station opposite platform 4 and catching the bus at stop C. On the return journey, stop D is just opposite. St Pancras is of course completely disabled friendly. There is a press release at Route 59 extended to St. Pancras and King's Cross | Transport for London. I would guess that for many people heavy bags and the tube will not be a good idea so this will be a better and indeed cheaper option. Happy travelling Adam |
