Default Luxury for families in Tenerife??

My husband and I are, some might say foolishly, about to take are three young children on holiday for the first time. We have 2 year old twins and a 1 year old baby. We would normally go to Mauritius or Dubai for our winter sun, but even in club class I can't face the 7 hour flight! Therefore I'm desperately trying to find a luxurious option in the canary islands. Does such a thing exist? Can anyone help. Please!!!

Default Luxury for families in Tenerife??

Why not take a look at the wonderfully luxurious Gran Melia Bahia Del Duque, in the quieter and more reserved resort of Costa Adeje, in Tenerife. Details can be found on our Tenerife destination page www.takethefamily.com/where/tenerife.php It is the only 5 star deluxe hotel in the area, and is a member of the 'Leading Hotels of the World', and is set in 17 acres of subtropical gardens, in a the style of a luxury nineteenth century village. Transfer time is a mere 30 minutes, so is the ideal for travelling with young children, as well as the children's playground, 2 children's pools (with 8 pools in total), children's clubs and activities, table tennis, volleyball, giant chess and irresistible ice cream parlour!! It is well worth considering in our opinion. Wherever you choose, we hope you have a wonderful family holiday. Do let us know how you get on, we are always keen to receive family reviews - Regards, the Take the Family team

The Bahia Del Duque is a long established Luxury hotel where I have stayed and enjoyed very much. The problem is childcare for kids under the age of 2 years. Many hotels do have provisions for older children but not so many cater for the younger ones !

For short haul luxury Winter Sun in November, as well as the Canaries (3-4 hrs flying time), you may also like to consider the Balearics (2-3 hr flying time) or Morocco, which is also a 3 hour flight away. In Menorca, consider the 5 star 'Punta Prima Prestige', a five star secluded resort, from travel partners 'Sovereign Premium holidays'. Although the 'Babyclub' caters for ages 2-3 yrs, the Insotel baby service is also available on a request basis and offers baby-sitting, pushchairs, baby phones, bottle warmers, nappy bins and highchairs for the apartments. www.takethefamily.com/stay/menorca/insotel_club_punta_prima_prestige/ In Tenerife, take a look at the five star beach fronted Princess Yaiza. It is an elegant airy hotel, which somewhat unusually positively welcomes children, despite the luxurious surroundings. They have a babyclub (called the Cooky Club) for ages 0-2 yrs, as well as lots of other clubs for older children, and babysitting is availble at a cost of 10 Euros per hour. There offer a range of suites, as well as rooms, available including junior, family, presidential and royal. www.takethefamily.com/stay/canary_islands/lanzarote/princess_yaiza/ In Mallorca, take a look at the Pollentia Village, two hotels, (a three and a four star), covering 80,000m2. Pollentia village (the four star section) offers superior rooms and suites as well as a babyclub for ages 1-4 yrs, although childcare only runs from May to October. www.takethefamily.com/stay/spain/mallorca/pollentia_club_resort/ Or in Morocco, you may like to consider a Club Med option, who have excellent babycare facililties. Take a look at 'Smir Village'; the hotel is set in 18 hectares. Although not a five star hotel, they cater for children as young as 4 months, and as well as club rooms they also offer club bungalows, some of which are specifically suitable for families. www.takethefamily.com/stay/morocco/smir_village/ We hope this provides you with some more ideas. It can be difficult to find childcare for younger children, especially beyond October. Do let us know if we can provide any further help. - Regards, Take the family team

I can highly recommend the Princess Yiaza in Lanzarote. We went with our 2 and 3 year old and booked into one of their superior suites. We had our own double room and the children had a room each. Whilst having mini/kids clubs it also has an indoor soft play center. The restaurants are fabulous and the quality of service is second to none. We had a lovely time their and hope to go back this year. good luck with your search.

Post Luxury Family Hotel Tenerife

Abama in Tenerife is by far the best luxury hotel for children and their parents. It is a beautiful resort with several pools(including a great pool with a slope perfect for toddlers), a sandy beach (with imported white sand) and a complimentary kids club (age 4-12). There's a amazing golf course and spa for you to relax as well. I have been there twice with my girls aged 1 & 3 and it has a very relaxed atmosphere so you feel at ease with children there.

Travelbeam specalises in luxury family hotels in Europe (Home) We have first-hand knowledge of all the hotels we sell and can guarantee interconnecting rooms and car seats in transfers and offer detailed advice from the best kids clubs to the maximum savings to be had from combining special offers.
