Hello everyone, first time on the forum.
I am after some advice on where to take my family (wife and two boys 4 and 2) for some October sun. Not sure on where best to go. Any advice is very welcome, thank you in advance.

There is still a lot of availability left for October half term, so it's a great time to book.

You can still get decent weather with out having to go long haul and here are some suggestions:

Almyra, Cyprus
Residence, Tunisia
Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus
Porto Sani Village, Halkidiki
Westin Dragonara
Le Meridien Limassol, Cyprus

Alternatively if you would like to go further afield, there are some great hotels in Mauritius or some of the Caribbean countries such as Barbados ,Antigua or St Lucia.
