I really want a gentle family holiday in Sweden this summer -- bit of farm life and a bit of beach life. Any tips on where to go?

Our partners Cottages4you, have many cottages and self catering villas in Sweden, and on their website you can specify the distance to the beach! One tip is to take/rent bikes whilst you're there. You are guaranteed the countryside experience as there are thousands of kilometers of trails and remote country roads in Sweden, making it one of the best bike destinations around. Have a great summer holiday.......Ah, roll on summer! - Take the Family Team

Default back from sweden

a bit late but we made it back last summer

www.hestraviken.se was great - 2 bedroom cottage in grounds - healthy lifestyle - lake swimming - hearty food, swimming pool etc

our english kids seemed a bit wilder than the swedish version - or maybe it's just ours - it was near an incredible swedish cowboy park called the High Chapparal - authentic and less trashy than anything over here

then down to a beach resort called bastad - where they hold the swedish open tennis - this was great - beautiful beaches, cool coffe bars - wonderful landscape
plus sweden seems peppered with great leisure pools with water chutes/ slides etc

they're kept incredibly keen and are virtually empty

nice contrast to the local swimming baths here in blighty

basically sweden is cool!!
