Default Mark Warner vs Club Med vs Esprit vs Powder Byrne

We'd love to her from any parent who has had a holidy experience with any of the 'main family ski holiday specialists. What was brilliant, what could they have done better and how do they compare?

We went to Les Arcs with Esprit in March 05 and they were great. We are planning to go with Esprit next year. The kid's club staff were all English which was great.

We went with Club Med to Arcs 2000 a couple of years age. Great food and overall we enjoyed it. Just a pity there wasn't more English speakers. "The other "English family" had a French Mum! We also changed ski class after the 1st lesson as our instructors English was poor as was our French. Since then we're chosen resorts that have a ski school with English speakers and done our own thing with chalets and travel.

We went to Abu Soma in Egypt with Mark Warner last June and the holiday was amazing. The food was fresh every day, the service was outstanding and our daughter (then 2) didn't want to leave the childrens club! Seeing our daughter surf, go out on a yachting boat and swim at least twice a day made the holiday for us, she was so happy. My husband and I came back so rested. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

We went to Ardent in Portes du soleil with The Family Ski Company for new year. They were fantastic, the chalet La Grange was very nicely equipped, the staff in the chalet couldn't do enough for us all, the food was delicious, & the creche staff were all english & very good. Our 20 month old son new most of their names on the 2nd day!! On 1 afternoon we collected our 4 year old daughter & son early from the creche to spend some time together & neither of them wanted to leave! The ski school was brilliant & the company provide english ski school helpers to help look after the young ones in ski school. We are already booked for next season. Not on your list above but a company we definately recomend.

We went to Val D'Isere with Esprit in March 2006 with a 5 month old and a 2 y.o. We had a a suite of 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms off the main coridor for less than Mark Warner would have charged for all 4 of us in one room. The nursery was very good no problems. This year we returned in Jan with the now 3 y.o. spending am in snow club and pm on the slopes. Morning handover a bit disorganised but overall everyone happy. The one downer was the tummy bug in Val which we escaped in 2006 but which the 1 y.o got at the end of this year's holiday. As it was the last day and only one child was affected it had little impact on our skiing, but for some families everyone caught it and the children were then out of daycare for 48 hrs. Can recommend Esprit but would want reassurances re the Val bug before returning to that resort.
