Default Drayton Manor Theme Park? Has anyone been?

Hi all,

I am just in the process of organising a trip to Drayton Manor Theme Park near Tamworth in Staffordshire, just wondering if anyone has been or has any tips on where to stay etc as we are travelling from London.

Cheers,
Leigha

Hi Leigha

I can recommend Drayton Manor Theme Park as a great all rounder for families with kids of all ages. Although not quite up to Alton Towers standard, it can make for a great day out, and has some great variety, and even museums and a zoo.

They provide many exciting and exhilarating rides, with Europe's first stand up rollercoaster 'Shockwave', 'Apocolypse' the 52ft tower that drops you speeds topping 70kmph, 'Storm Force 10' - a brilliant water ride (you definately will get drenched, there is no avoiding it!), and more, as well as more sedate rides and fun for younger children like the new 'Thomas Land'. I've been quite a few times myself, and once lived nearby.

As with most theme parks queues can become a problem, so it really makes sense to get their early. But is probably not quite as bad here as many of the others. Food can also be expensive, (as can tickets), but then that’s theme parks for you!

If you are thinking of an Drayton Manor Park and hotel package, take a look at options from partners Superbreaks, with tons of hotel options in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. Click here to take a look. For hotel only options see below.

Tamworth Hotel Options:
The nearest hotel is Drayton Court Hotel, an oldey-worldy hotel, with a few family rooms, approx quarter of a mile away.

Also nearby, less than a mile, is The Belfry – A four star hotel with 500 acres & golf course.

Or if you prefer to stay nearer Tamworth town then the Premier Inn is a good option for an economic basic hotel.

Also in town is of course ‘The Snowdome’, which can be great fun, but trips can require a bit of planning.

Take a look at more options in conjunction with partners Active hotels.

Hope this helps!
