Easter Weekend Trip

I know we, (I), have left it late to book, and it's within busy school holidays, but does anyone have any ideas for taking a family of 5 (kids aged 7,10 and 14), for a fun long weekend away in the UK at Easter? We're not great at long car journeys, live nr Bristol airport, and fancy doing something different. Have we left it too late? Will it be hiked up prices? I had considered flying down to Newquay but maybe Scotland?

Newquay is fab, we have been going there for many years and the kids love it. Stayed at Sands and Bedruthan. Understand Sands is having a makeover at the moment, might get a good deal. Airport is close by. Cornwall would be my choice, all that lovely sea air, great family pubs etc.

Thanks Alison. We all talked it over, and decided that Newquay was a great idea. The kids are very exited to be flying from Bristol airport, rather than enduring an arduous car journey! I didn't realise flights from Bristol were so frequent, (currently every day!)We are to be staying nr Magwan Porth at the Bedruthan Steps Hotel for a week, and have hired a people carrier for the week. Woo Hoo!! Everybody's happy so far! Has anyone been to this hotel? It looks pretty good for kids and families, and I am clocking up the brownie points- Simon

Hi Alison again, Bedruthan is fab, we stayed approx 6 years ago and are going again in May. Its everything you could want from a holiday, grown up things for the adults, spa etc, dining without children in an excellent setting and plenty for the kids to do inside and outside and feels 5 star what more can i say, hope you have a great time and i am jealous we arent going sooner. We stayed in the main hotel last time, but the kids are 9 and 7 so we are staying outside in the apartment suites. The walk to the beach is great fun and Watergate Bay in another off our favourite beaches. So much to do and never enough time. Enjoy.
