It's not all rain rain go away

We've just returned from a camping holiday in Devon, whilst it seemed the rest of the country was bombarded by torrential rain.
Our bags were packed with mostly waterproofs, wellies and things to do on rainy days. Much to our surprise, almost as soon as we entered Devon, the skies cleared and the sun shone. We had no more than 2 or 3 hours of rain during the day, (more at night but we didn't mind that too much.) We spent a few days on the beaches fishing, playing and just lounging, and visited a few places and went on some great cliff walks with the dog. All in all, we had a great time. We wouldn't have minded that much even if we had of had much more rain. We were just happy to be somewhere new, on holiday with plenty of fresh air and all together. Have you been on a UK holiday this year? And if so, was your family holiday affected by the weather? |

Just back from 10 days in Guernsey where we had rain and a gale but also 4 days of glorious sun shine.
We did things in the rain incluing a daft picnic on the beach in the beach tent with the beach to our selves. We can cope with rain. What would have been unbarable is the 40 plus temperatures in Greece and elsewhere. So be prepared, pack the kids wellies and enjoy! Adam |

We went to Littlehampton for a week and although it rained on a couple of the days the rest were fine, thankfully not so hot that it makes you want to do nothing...we had a great time exploring the area and enjoying the beaches. As my five year old said 'there's nothing wrong with a bit of wind'
