Hi, we are thinking of going to Jersey next summer with 2 boys aged 10 and 8. Can anybody recommend a good family hotel but the beach. We have stayed at the Merton which was nice but you cant see the sea, and i do like to be by the beach. Also would really like a hotel which has family suites or interconnecting rooms.

Hi Imogen Jersey is a fantastic place for kids and adults alike - St Brelade's Bay is perfect for children - safe water, sandy beach and palm trees! St Ouen is where you get the best surf and the buses are fantastically cheap and regular for sightseeing the island. I would recommend St Brelade's as your base but also think about camping too - my boys love it and you're nearly always guaranteed fab camping weather. Another tip is to call the camp site or hotel directly because they have arrangements with flights and the Condor Ferries whereby it's cheaper if they book on your behalf. Hope this helps and have a great time - check out the zoo!

Do give Guernsey a look too!
Just as much to do plus small islands to vist like Herm and Sark. Beaches are good too. The Queen Mary calls at Guernsey rather than Jersy on cruises so must be good. Several hotels along the north coast will meet your needs or stay in town and get the bus to a different beach each day (60p flat fare). Adam |
