Default Where is good to go in the UK to keep 2 boys active? (age 7 and 5)

We went on a family plus break last year with HF holidays walking on the Isle of Wight and to St Ives (same thing) the previous year and whist I heartily recommend HF, I would like a change this year. I do not want to self cater as I don't see this as much of a break! Also I would like some other families to be there so that everyone can make friends

What about a Lake District canoe/pony trek holiday? My kids loved it!

I agree that HF is very good, and go most years. We have been to Manor Adventure in Shropshire, and have enjoyed that too. It looks after the children from 3 years old. The parents can do their own adventurous things, which are supervised very well!

Thumbs up

Try Guernsey.

The adventure starts with getting there by plane or ferry. It feels vaguely French. The beaches are superb. There's no hedious amusment arcades. Cheap flat fare buses round the island. Creepy Underground Hospital museum. Two castles. A road that disappears when the tide comes in, so you might get stuck on the little island.

So much to see.

Cool

Weststar Holidays - Award winning family holiday Parks in Cornwall, Dorset and Hampshire. Book a Holiday Home or camping pitch.

They've got a Get Active Scheme at most parks, and so your boys can burn off all their energy with professional sports tuition in the school holidays, and meet other kids

Have you considered the Lake District as a destination?
If you're tempted I heartily recommend taking a trip to the Alnwick Garden. Apart from being a totally stunning, full-on grand scale, hands-on garden with endless things to do and see, they also have a jam packed calendar of events. In May alone, perfect for kids, is Grow your own dinner, Coffee and Crayons and Tales Unlimited (Fantasy storytelling with music, movement and aerial dance).

Truly worth a visit.

Take a look at our Lake District destination guide, with tons of other ideas.

Have fun!!

Thumbs up Littlehampton

Now i know its not the most obvious place - which is part of its charm but we recently stayed at Littlehampton, they call it 'Sussex on the sea' and the boys loved it, wide variety of days out and glorious beaches. Fun park on the seafront was good value and tired them out...always a bonus

we found it through the link below, theres a video on the site which shows different stuff, neat idea
