Beth Rubin is the award-winning author of Frommer’s Washington, D.C. With Kids (all 9 editions!) and the first editions of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Washington, D.C. and Washington, D.C. For Dummies; she also writes twice a month for the Frommers Family Travel Newsletter. Over the past 28 years, her travel features and essays have appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines and on the Internet. She’s also the author of a prize-winning novel Split Ends.

When not tethered to her computer, she spends time with her family (all of whom live within an hour of her home) or hits the road, often with grandchildren Joshua, 10, Jaymie, 8, Dustin, 4 and Caitlin, 2—in tow. Sometimes she allows her son, daughter and their spouses to join in the fun.
