Kate Mikhail

Freelance writer Kate Mikhail has been a journalist for some 20 years. She started out as a local reporter for the Dimbleby Newspaper Group and went on to write art reviews, travel pieces and general features for the Independent, Observer, Guardian and Telegraph, as well as various magazines.

Kate has travelled extensively around Europe and further afield, including memorable trips to Hong Kong, China, Kenya and Egypt. Since having children, her adventures have slowed down a touch, but with parents in France and in-laws in Portland, Oregon, travel is still very much part of family life. Getting from A to B with three small children in tow has proved a steep learning curve, but she's looking forward to future camping trips, boating holidays and exploring the wider world with her young family.

Born in London, Kate has lived in both Paris and a fishing village near Tokyo, but is now settled in north London with her husband, daughter and twin sons.
