Louise Rogers Lalaurie is a writer, translator and editor based near Paris, where she has lived since 1991 with her French husband and two sons. The family made their first Big Trip – a nine-week camper-van journey across southern Australia – when the children were aged two-and-a-half and eight months; since then they have explored South Africa, Thailand, the western USA, New England, Italy, Spain, Greece, Denmark, France, the UK and more, often aboard a camper-van, frequently under canvas and occasionally on two wheels.
Louise is the author of the travel section of the best-selling BBC guide Get by in France and was a regular contributor to the Time Out Paris City Guide and Time Out Paris Eating Guide from 2001 to 2006. She edited the first edition of the Cadogan Guide to the South of France, and has been a co-translator of the annual LVMH City Guides since 2006.
Her latest translation describes a journey from Paris to the Congo, by the French traveller and grand reporteur Jean Rolin.
