The Fossil room - Kids Club 

The Fossil Room is an immersive space for learning and play, created to inspire young explorers through the wonders of biodiversity and ancient life. Thoughtfully designed for curious minds, it offers a nature-led environment where children can connect with the landscapes, wildlife, and stories of Yala.

Focused on meaningful engagement, the experience encourages children to explore, question, create, and discover through guided activities and hands-on learning experiences.

Timetable available on request, for the following age groups:

• Sprouts (3-5 years old)

• Explorers (6-9 years old)

• Trailblazers (10-14 years old)

Morning Session: 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM (2.5 hours) Afternoon Session: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM (2 hours) Extra Sessions: Available throughout the day (60-120 minutes each)

Opening times may vary depending on season and weather. Activities are complimentary, however the 'extra sessions' require advance booking to ensure materials are prepared.

Junior Ranger

The Junior Ranger programme invites young adventurers to discover the magic of the wild through a range of exciting, hands-on experiences designed for children of all ages. Tailored to suit 2, 3, or 5-night stays, each programme offers an engaging introduction to the wilderness, with longer experiences allowing for deeper exploration and achievement-based certifications.

Activities include animal identification, footprint tracking, and learning about animal behaviour and social groups, encouraging children to connect with nature in a fun and educational way. Young explorers can also choose to follow specialist pathways focused on their favourite animals or work towards becoming a certified Junior Tracker through spoor interpretation and tracking skills.

For a more relaxed adventure, guided bush walks with our experienced rangers provide a memorable opportunity to experience the surrounding wilderness up close.

Things to Note

• All walking trails are conducted with a safety-first approach, and children must follow the guidance of our rangers at all times.
• The jungle surrounding Wild Coast lies within the Buffer Zone of the National Park and forms part of a protected forest reserve. Guests are encouraged to respect and preserve this unique environment.
• As the lodge shares an unfenced border with Yala National Park, wild animals may occasionally pass through the area. Guests should remain alert, walk quietly, and always follow ranger instructions.
• The programme is designed for children aged 6–16 years.
• Availability may be limited between December and April.
