Jumby Bay is a first class luxury all-inclusive resort, set on a private island of 300 acres, 2 miles off the north coast off Antigua. A chunk of paradise without pretensions and, even better, families travelling here can take an active part in the island’s conservation efforts, watching turtles hatch and releasing them back into the sea – a once in a lifetime experience.
The island is a 7-minute boat ride away from the mainland but you probably won’t want to leave. You’ll find tennis courts and two pools and you only need to lift a finger for food and drinks service. The restaurant and grill offer panoramic views and fine food but, if you prefer, you can head out on a boat and catch your own supper. There’s nightly entertainment, private dinners can be arranged and there’s a weekly barbecue. The kids’ clubs are excellent with active involvement in conservation, constellation walks and mocktail lessons. There are plenty of water sports and a spa for even more downtime where the kids can enjoy junior treatments too.
Accommodation is luxurious and consists of spacious rooms or suites with king-size beds (interconnecting suites is an option), with private courtyards and soaking tubs or wraparound verandas and spacious houses sleeping 4-10 people with sumptous furnishings.
