Sandy Lane on the west coast of Barbados is an opulent family-friendly resort of Palladian-style buildings and landscaped grounds, with exceptional staff, a brilliantly run kids’ club, stunning golf courses, 9 tennis courts and a fantastic beach and lagoon-style swimming pool. The gardens come complete with bridges and fountains, and there's a well-renowned spa with a café.

The Treehouse Club offers activities and the chance to learn new skills such as sailing and cooking. Teens have monopoly over the lower half of the club, where you’ll find DVDs, computer games and pool tables. The resort is happy to organize excursions, sports clinics and coastal cruises.

Accommodation at Sandy Lane has a luxurious and elegant neo-classical style. Each room or suite has a a semi-enclosed patio, framing the view and giving a wonderful sense of privacy. Options for families include:

  • Interconnecting Rooms - Orchid, Ocean and Luxury Ocean Rooms can be interconnected with a room of the same type, to sleep 4. Each room has a seating area and private patio.
  • Luxury Dolphin & Luxury Orchid Suites - sleep 4 with 2 bedrooms, a living area and a furnished patio.
  • Sandy Lane Suite - sleeps 10, with 4 bedrooms kitchen, living and dining areas and a pool.
  • Orchid Penthouse - sleep up to 4, with 2 bedrooms, a spacious living/dining area and furnished patios. Can be interconnected with another Penthouse, to sleep up to 8.
  • The Villa - sleeps up to 14, with a master suite on the 1st floor plus 4 bedrooms surrounding a courtyard with pool, jacuzzi and entertainment area. Private gardens and private beach access.

Total: 113 rooms and suites plus a villa.

Childcare

The Tree House Club offers a fun programme of activities for children from 3-12 years (younger children can join in but must be accompanied by a parent, babysitter or nanny)

The hotel also runs a programme of sports camps for children aged 7-16 years, with activities such as waterskiing, tennis, golf and football.

For teenagers, the hotel has a dedicated area, The Den, where they can hang out with others in the lounge and enjoy facilities such as a pool table, gaming and a jukebox.

If you would like like private childcare for younger (or older) children, the hotel can arrange babysitters and certified nannies.

Location

You can fly direct to Barbados from London and Manchester, or indirect from a number of UK regional airports. Sandy Lane is a 40-minute transfer from Grantley Adams International Airport.
