On the west coast of the Caribbean island of Barbados, Tamarind – a sister hotel to the Turtle Beach Resort and the Crystal Cove – is a popular destination for a luxury family holiday on a glorious stretch of white sand. Down-to-earth, it has plenty of facilities and is perfect for families looking to combine downtime with new adventures together – perhaps swimming with turtles or learning a new sport. All watersports (motorised and non-motorised) are complimentary, while bookable activities include horseriding, water polo lessons, scuba-diving or Segway tours of the island. You can also head to the spa and relaxation pool while your offspring enjoy the kid’s club, which arranges excursions and plenty of sports and activities.

The two alfresco restaurants, offering casual and fine dining,  have dedicated kids’ menus as well as an early-dining option. There’s also evening poolside entertainment and two bars.

The 104 rooms and suites are spacious and contemporary, with bright furnishings, oversized balconies and wonderful views (garden or ocean). And you're only a 15-minute drive from the capital, Bridgetown, known for its British colonial architecture.
