Paradisus Varadero Resort is located on the north coast of Cuba and is only a 30-minute drive from the airport. It’s a large sprawling resort, with tropical landscaped gardens leading down to the beach and has colonial style pillared raised walkways connecting buildings. It’s an all-inclusive resort, which makes it a great choice for families, although some reviews have mentioned it can get noisy with loud speakers playing music throughout the resort. With the Varahicacos Ecological Reserve only a 13-minute walk away, families coming here can get to hike through an un-spoilt nature reserve and get up close to the diverse flora and fauna before heading back to the resort to party into the late hours (with the kids safely tucked up by the babysitter).
There are 11 restaurants to choose from, so even the fussiest of eaters will find something to tempt them, from international cuisine, grills, Japanese and, of course Cuban. There are two lagoon-style swimming pools with a separate kids’ section and a kids’ club leaving you free to enjoy the later entertainment. The beach is a lovely stretch of sand, where you can try out some of the water sports such as water skiing and sailing.
The rooms are spacious, with clean simple lines and all come with balconies with furniture to enjoy the views.
