Brussels has a huge choice of family-friendly hotels, with rates varying widely according to whether the European Parliament is hosting a major event. Rates are best at weekends and in the summer holidays.

For the space, convenience and money-saving benefits of self-catering, the Citadines chain has two of its ‘apart’hotels’ here: Bruxelles Sainte Catherine and Bruxelles Toison d’Or.

On a more personal scale, Bed&Bruxelles (bnb-brussels.be) offers special rates for kids in B&Bs around the city.
