These five-star ski-in ski-out apartments in the family-friendly car-free resort of Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil ski area (1 hour 40 minutes by car from Geneva),have facilities galore, making this a good all-rounder holiday for people of all ages, but especially, because of the no-traffic rule, for those with younger kids.
The resort was designed in the 60s; everything is high-rise with fantastic views, so book yourself an apartment on the top, if you can. Beds are ready on arrival, there’s a shopping and breakfast delivery service (extra), or sign up to the flexi meal options can be reserved at the time of booking.
The public lounge has log fires, bar, pool table and kids’ play area and there’s also a games and computer loan service. Pierre & Vacances Premium Residence L'Amara is about a 75-minute transfer from Geneva airport, or a little over eight hours' drive from the ferry port of Calais and the nearest train station, Thonon les Bains is about 25km away, easily accessible from Geneva or Paris.
