Sitting on the southern border of Germany, just a short drive from Austria, is Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof Campsite, a Bavarian woodland holiday park perfectly kitted out for families.

There is a kids club (site-run) and parent supervision is required but if it is quality family time you are after you are spoilt for choice with activities to get everyone involved. The animation team organise sporting competitions, theme nights and talent shows. But if you just want to spend time with the kids, why not hire bikes and explore the Bavarian landscapes, or have a go at horse riding or get out on the water for some canoeing fun.

Accommodation is basic but offers everything handy when on a self-catering holiday, and you have a choice between a mobile home (for up to 8 people) and a kitted-out canvas tent for a family of 6.
