Perfectly positioned for an active summer sun or ski family holiday, or just simply a short break with the kids in spring or autumn, Center Parcs Park Allgäu sits in southern Germany close to the Alps. A couple of hours drive from Munich and fairly close to the Austrian border self-catering holiday park, due to open October 2018, is sure to be a big hit amongst families from all over Europe.

There are a huge variety of activities, both inside and out, including the large tropical pool complex with slides and a splash play area for the little ones, plus a snorkeling pool where you can ge close to tropical fish. You can elevate yourselves in the treetop adventure trails, with courses designed for younger children as well as older kids and adults. And if it's adrenaline-fuelled action you are looking for, the zip wire across the parc and the 7m freefall jump is a must.

The choice of accommodation here is great, whether you are holding tight to the purse strings or wanting to splurge on something special, Center Parcs Park Allgäu has an option for you. Unique to this holiday park is the wellness cottage, which can sleep up to 12 people (perfect for large families and group gatherings), and features a spectacular bathroom with hamman, spa shower and a private terrace with hot tub. The alpine-inspired interior of this and the other cottages on-site will give you a sense of the great outdoors, indoors.
