Gran Claviere is an all-inclusive hotel in the pretty village of Claviere, on the French/Italian border. The slopes, which are a short walk away, are for mixed abilities, although particularly suited for beginners and intermediates. The resort is quiet with very little nightlife so after the slopes families can concentrate on some good-old fashioned fun at the swimming pool, leisure centre, bowling alley and cinema in the evenings.
The hotel itself offers great value with all meals included (some guests have commented that the food needs improving) and unlimited wine with lunches and dinners and packed lunches for any excursions. The sun terrace and lounge with roaring fire are both great places to hang out in and adults can explore further afield, while their kids are looked after in the kids’ club that’s run in the hotel six days a week for kids aged 6 months-17 years – you can book evening sessions too for a supplement. Families with young kids will appreciate the 24-hour access to a baby room with steriliser and microwave.
Rooms sleep 2-5 people in twin beds and singles and are simply furnished with wooden beds and floors – all come with TVs.
