How to get to San Francisco and Northern California

There are non-stop flights from London to San Francisco International Airport with a wide variety of operators, costing £300–500 return. Flying time is 11hrs and you should expect to suffer jet-lag on the way home.

From the airport you can rent a car, take a taxi or ride the BART metro into downtown San Francisco. Shuttle services such as Super Shuttle charge as little as $17 per passenger for shared rides to city hotels and other locations.
