This Victorian-themed luxury hotel on the edge of Disney's Magic Kingdom (which you can access by water taxi or monorail) is on the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon, which lends it an air of tranquility that will probably be very welcome after hectic days on Orlando's themeparks. Facilities include two pools, one with a waterslide, plus a gym and a spa. Evenings see lagoon light shows and campfire activities, while in the daytime a pirate ship takes delighted 4-12 year olds around the lake.

A wide choice of dining options include formal and casual restaurants, all with kids' menus and some themed, with the chance to meet your favourite Disney characters. Rooms sleep up to five and feature heavy, dark furniture and patterned wallpaper in keeping with the olde-worlde feel.
