The Grove Hotel, Hertfordshire
A five-star country house estate in Hertfordshire, about 30km northwest of London, The Grove is a great choice for a luxury family break within easy reach of the capital.
The main 18th-century building is grand and the decor chic. The walled garden has an outdoor pool and, in summer, an urban beach, and there's an OFSTED-registered kids' club (suitable for children aged from 3-months up to 8 years) with an adventure playground and its own pool, plus babysitting, so you can take advantage of the spa and the very adult restaurant Colette's (the other two restaurants are family friendly).
Bedtime is a treat with milk and cookies, plus bathrobes provided for the kids. Choose to stay in the Mansion House or West Wing, with options sleeping up to 4, although interconnecting rooms are available for larger families.

Deluxe rooms sleep up to 3, with a double and a sofabed (suitable for children aged 12 and under).
Executive suites and deluxe rooms sleep 2 plus an infant in a cot.
