In a quiet setting just 3km from the fascinating historical fishing town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast, Captain Cook’s Haven is a holiday village ideally placed for family holidays and breaks exploring both the coast and York, Castle Howard and the North Yorkshire Moors. A good-value base, Captain Cook’s Haven has the benefit of an indoor pool and a playground, although there are no shops, bars or restaurants on site. Some of the self-catering cottages are privately owned so standards can vary; there’s also something of a modern housing estate feel to the buildings and layout.

200 cottages and bungalows, all with patio or balcony. Some allow pets.

Endeavour Cottages sleep up to 5, in 1 double bedroom, 1 room with bunk beds and a single room.
A 4 person cottage is also available with 1 double and 1 twin room.

Discovery Cottages 2 sleep 6 in 1 double room and 2 twin rooms , with river views.

Ayton Cottages are similar but sleep 4 in 1 double and 1 twin.

Cooke’s Cottages 3-storey cottage  sleep 6 in 2 doubles (1 king-size ensuite) and 1 twin,. with river views.

Resolution Bungalows sleep 4 in 1 double and 1 twin, suitable for parties including partially disabled guests.
