Gleneagles is known around the world for golf but there is so much more to this luxurious 5-star hotel and it is a fantastic place to go for a family holiday.

The hotel is set in 850 acres of grounds with woodland, hills and rivers - as well as the 3 championship golf courses. They entitle the estate "The Glorious Playground" and it really is. Focussing mainly on the natural environment, there are activities for all ages, ranging from 4x4 off-road driving adventures (including the option of mini replica Land Rovers for children!) to cycle hire (from road bikes to E-bikes), family gundog classes (they provide the dogs) to tree climbing.

Indoors, the hotel has tried to think of everything you might need too, with a wide choice of family accommodation, a luxurious spa, areas for the kids to play and a number of very different dining options - ranging from pizza and curry to Michelin-star fine-dining.

If you're looking for a luxury family break with plenty to keep everyone entertained, look no further.

Location

Gleneagles is located in Perthshire, approximately one hour's drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports. Helicopters can land directly at the hotel (arrange in advance).

Gleneagles also has its own railway station, 2 minutes from the hotel. It is on the main London-Inverness line - the train journey from London takes just over 5 and a half hours.

A chauffeur can be arranged to pick you up from the airport or station.

If driving to the hotel, bear in mind that the hotel's postcode is not representative of its location! Instead, you need to use PH3 1SH.

Childcare

The Little Glen is an 'adventure zone' kids' club for 2 to 9-year-olds, with an indoor treehouse, other play equipment and toys. There is also an arts and crafts workshop area.

Guests of the hotel and Glemor receive 2 complimentary hours per child. A charge applies for additional hours.

The Den is an area of the hotel for older children (6-15 years) to hangout. It includes a cinema room, board games, arts and crafts, pool and air hockey - and a huge wall-mounted Scrabble board!

The Den area is complimentary to hotel guests and Glenmor residents but it is not a kids' club - there is no supervision from the hotel so parents need to keep an eye on their own kids.

Babysitting can also be arranged (charge applies).

The Little Glen provides a base for fun activities for younger children.
