Where to stay

New York is brimming with family-friendly places to stay. Check our our guide to the city and our recommendations for places to stay, including hotels and apartment options to suit a variety of budgets.

The Empire State Building is open throughout the year from 8am through to 2am. The peak times when most people tend to visit are between mid morning and early afternoon, so we recommend you visit out of these times. Early morning or late night are great times to avoid the crowds - giving you the chance to see New York with the hustle and bustle first thing, or when the city winds down of an evening and the lights come out to play.

Unfortunately you are unable to book to visit at a specific time, but by pre-booking your tickets you will save valuable time on queuing. We suggest you allow an hour to experience the Empire State Building, slightly more it it is busy or you want to visit by floors.

The best way to get around New York is by foot, subway and bus. Head for Fifth Avenue, between 33rd and 34th Streets to find the main entrance.

This city has it all. No matter what cuisine you are looking for or your budget there will always be something to suit. Within the Empire State Building itself, there is a selectiong of shops and restaurants in the main lobby.

Prices are £19 per child (6 yrs +) and £23 per adult.
