Where to stay

There are so many options where you can stay either within the resort or on the outskirts, in a hotel or self-catering property. Most families travelling as a large group opt for a villa with the likes of James Villa Holidays to give them space and flexibility, while smaller families usually stay in one of a variety of on-site hotels, which include the Hard Rock Hotel and Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort (and, from 2018, the Aventura Hotel). Once accommodation is sorted out, you can package your holiday easily by booking ticket packages with Attractiontix (click the BOOK link).

When

Universal Orlando Resort is a year-round destination, but try to avoid the US and UK school holidays if possible. The parks are generally open from 9am, with some shows and special events going on into the night.

How

Do some planning before you arrive to ensure you make the most of your time. Get a map to plot your way around the attractions and pre-book combination park tickets (see below).

Eat

You can eat your way around the world while enjoying Universal Orlando Resort. Great with younger children are the character dining experiences and themed-restaurants such as Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous™ and Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Cafe.

Cost

A variety of ticket options give you access to the Universal Orlando Resort themeparks over a number of days. There are also ticket packages combining Universal Orlando Resort with some of the other major themeparks and attractions in the area – a great way to save money. These include:

Universal Orlando™ 2 Park Explorer Ticket: Access The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ - Diagon Alley™ at Universal Studios Florida™ and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ - Hogsmeade™ at Universal’s Islands of Adventure™. In addition you can travel between both of these on the Hogwarts™ Express.

Universal Orlando™ 3 Park Explorer Ticket: As above plus access to Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park.
