Family City Breaks in Asia
Families might make a city break in Asia en route to Australia – if you have to make a stopover, why not extend it for a couple of days and take the time to explore a place you might never otherwise get chance to see, such as Singapore or Hong Kong?
Alternatively, you might spend a few days in an Asian city as part of a longer family holiday in the region, or a night or two in a city may be part of an organised adventure trip.
Unlike in Europe, unless you’re staying in an Asian city for any length of time you’re unlikely to choose an apartment or other self-catering option. Hotels are generally the best choice in less familiar areas of the world, and they also leave you the time to enjoy the cities themselves – the museums, sights and restaurants.
In warmer places such as Asia, you’re advised, especially with younger kids, to look for a hotel with a swimming pool for letting off steam and cooling down at the end of a hectic day’s exploring. You should also look out for spacious rooms/suites and closeness to major sights and public transport.
