This 4-day Family Retreat is a wonderful introduction to Moroccan life, away from the hussle and bussle of Marrakech, up in the foothills of the mountains in Ourigane. You'll stay in a traditional guesthouse with an inviting pool in the gardens. Each morning there are planned activities for the whole family to enjoy together, then in the afternoon you can choose how to spend your time. If you would like to experience Marrakech as well, you can add on nights there before or after your Family Retreat.

The Morocco Family Retreat is planned for February half-term, April/Easter, May half-term and dates in July/August. 


For this Intrepid trip, you only have to unpack once! The duration of the retreat is spent staying in a traditional guesthouse in Ouigane, for 3 nights. The retreat includes 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners.

Prices from £330 per adult and £297 per child, including mini-bus travel from Marrakech, 3 nights accommodation, meals and activities as detailed in the itinerary. Min. group size 4, max. 12. Min. age 5 years old. Prices can change at any time.


Day 1: Meet in Marrakech at 11am for a welcome gathering, before heading up to Ouirgane, about 1.5 hours drive. Settle into your traditional Amazigh (Berber) guesthouse - a real 'home from home' but with a backdrop of olive trees and mountains - and a swimming pool! Enjoy a delicious dinner at the guesthouse tonight.

Day 2: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out for a half-day (approx. 3 hours) hike in the beautiful surrounding landscape, part of the Toubkal National Park. The hike ends with a lunch with a local Imazighen (Berber) family. In the afternoon, head back to the guesthouse to relax and enjoy the pool before another delicious dinner at the guesthouse.

Day 3: You've tried some local delicacies - now it is time to learn to make some! This morning your join a cookery class at the guesthouse. Learn how to make a special Moroccan tea, with mint leaves from the guesthouse garden. You'll also learn to make Tanorte bread - get the kids kneading the dough! Finally you'll learn about the delicious spices that make a tagine so tasty - cooking it outside over a wood fire before enjoying all results of all your efforts for lunch. In the afternoon you are free to relax as you please or enjoy one of a choice of optional activities. In the evening, dinner is again included.

Day 4: After your final breakfast in these beautiful surroundings, you depart for Marrackech. 

If you would like to spend some time in Marrakech, you can add on extra nights there, before or after the retreat.

Flights to/from Marrakech can be arranged. On arrival you need to be in Marrakech in time to join the group for the welcome gathering at 11am. Departing flights need to leave Marrakech after 2pm on the final day of the retreat.
