Take the kids (minimum age 10 years) on a real adventure of a lifetime and experience this teenage adventure holiday in Peru. This is an active adventure holiday involving lots of walking, hiking, biking and rafting making it best suited to those with good fitness levels. Although seeing the sites and experiencing the sounds of Peru gives you even more to experience.

Your adventure will start in the vibrant city of Cusco and by complete contrast, you will then endure a 4-day trek through the jungle to reach the dizzy heights of Machu Picchu. This is a 14-day experience of great magnitude; a true once-in-a-lifetime adventure holiday with the kids.

Note: There is also a Peru Family Adventure holiday suitable from age 5 for 11 days of activity and excitment with excursions suitable for younger children. Please ask us for me information if you are keen to explore Peru but your children are not yet over 10 years.

Day 1

You will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel in Lima.

Day 2

Explore Lima with a guide visiting museums and catacombs.

Day 3

Half day city tour of Cusco including a visit to an archaeological site, Coricancha.

Day 4

Free day to explore the city.

Day 5

Get your first taste of the Inca architecture en-route to Sacred Valley.

Day 6

Prepare for your Inca trail hike with a walk to Chinchero. Stay with a local family.

Day 7

Head to Moray; key location for agriculture in Inca times. Here you will start your cycling adventure (approx 35km), taking in the salt flats of Mara before heading to your base for the night, Ollantaytambo.

Day 8

Explore Ollantaytambo then head to the starting point of the Inca trail. Trek to your first campsite, 3100m above sea level.

Day 9

Tackle the most demanding park of the trek to the last place of human habitation on the trail.

Day 10

Continue the walk through the cloud forest, heading downhill and touching the outskirts of the Amazon jungle.

Day 11

Today you will reach Machu Picchu on your trek. Once taken advantage of the photo opportunities you will take a bus to your accommodation.

Day 12

An early start by bus for a guided tour of Machhu Picchu followed by free time to explore then ending the day in Cuzco.

Day 13

Free day in Cuzco; explore the sights and foods of this vibrant town. Sign up to a cooking class or a massage following your trek (extra cost; can be pre-booked).

Day 14

The tour ends so time to head to the airport or why not book additional days to further explore the country.
