Day 1: Make your own way to your hotel; family-run, comfortable and centrally located - with great views over Fistral Beach and Towan Headland. Get together with your host at 2pm for a welcome meeting followed by a walk around the town, discovering some of the town's history and what makes it such a famous surfing destination. There are no plans for the evening but your host can suggest some great places to try for dinner.
Day 2: Begin the day with a family yoga session, inspired by the ocean and sure to set you up for the day ahead. Later, grab your hiking boots and head out with the group to explore the area that was formerly a major centre for mining in Cornwall. Following coastal paths you'll have panoramic views along the cliffs, passing many relics of the mining industry.
Day 3: After another hearty breakfast, today's walk takes you north to the Trevose headland - officially designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. As you explore with your host, you'll cross sandy beaches, discover caves and learn about shipwrecks - and maybe even spot some grey seals or peregrine falcons! After the walk, a transfer will take you to Padstow, where your host will show you a small family-run bakery where they make Cornish pasties the traditional way - and perhaps you can try some for lunch! You'll have time to explore Padstow a little before returning to Newquay for the evening.
Day 4: Your Intrepid Family Retreat comes to an end. Check out after breakfast.
It is important that you arrive in time for the 2pm welcome meeting on the first day. If you are going to be late, please call the hotel and let them know.
