Between 1 March and 28 June 2018, the largest mechanical puppet ever to have been constructed in Britain will appear around the country during the Man Engine Resurrection Tour.
The Man Engine is a huge mechanical miner that toured the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site in summer 2016 in celebration of its ‘tinth’ anniversary. At 11.2 metres the height of two and a half doubledecker buses, it was voted UK's Best Arts Project in the National Lottery Awards.
The puppet will begin at Geevor Tin Mine in west Cornwall, moving onto Devon, Somerset, South Wales, Ironbridge in Shropshire, and South Yorkshire. Each location will host an Afternooner and an Afterdarker event, the first aimed at families, with singing, dancing and games. Earlybird tickets are available at just £5pp from manenginetickets.com.
