According to a new survey by Quidco, the average Brit spends a total of £207,824 on holidays in his or her lifetime and enjoys two UK holidays or mini-breaks a year plus one overseas holiday.
The poll also shows that 86% of people regard their holidays as the highlight of their year, while 50% agree with the assertion: ‘Life would not be worth living without holidays.’
The research reveals an average spend of £805 per UK break and £1,742 per foreign holiday abroad, giving an annual per person spend of £3,352.
More than half of UK holidaymakers fund their travel through putting regular savings (an average of £120 a month) into a special holiday account, with most holiday savings used for family travel.
