Family Resorts Boosted by Olympic Effects

Thursday 02 May 2013

Almost 12 months on from London 2012, family holidays specialist Mark Warner is reporting that its summer activity holidays have been given a huge boost by families inspired to try their hand at sailing, tennis and cycling. In Mark Warner’s four Greek resorts, bookings are up 72% on last year.

Says Mark Warner's David Hopkins: “We’ve noticed that our customers have been inspired by that fantastic event, as well as Olympians such as Ben Ainslie, Andy Murray and Victoria Pendleton. At our summer resorts, people of all ages can try their hand at sailing, tennis and mountainbiking, with our expert staff on hand to make sure they get the best experience…”

In a big year for cycling with the centenary of the Tour de France, it's worth knowing that Mark Warner offers guided tours of differing levels of ability and mountain bike loan. The firm has also invested £250,000 in new watersports equipment, and its qualified watersports staff offer free tuition at all resorts.

Kids can get in on the action, with a full programme of daytime activities in the daily children's clubs (included in the cost of the holiday). Royal Yachting Association courses and junior tennis lessons are also available for a small extra charge.
