Gramping family ski holidays

A new survey by all-inclusive holiday resort operator Club Med suggests that an increasing number of British families are choosing to go skiing with grandparents in tow. A fifth of those questioned had skied with extended family and grandparents in the last two years, while four-fifths said they are open to the possibility of 'gramping' on their next ski trip. The poll also found that 13 percent of grandparents are willing to pay for the ski holiday.

Reasons cited for choosing a ‘3G’/multigenerational ski holiday included spending more time together/bonding, making shared memories, learning new skills and being physically active, as well as the shared childcare between parents and grandparents.

Said Graham Bell, former Olympic skier and Club Med ambassador: 'I've been skiing with my family for as long as I can remember. It's great when we all get together as a group and go skiing. Hitting the slopes is a great way to keep fit and teach generations old and new the importance of family time.'
