World-renowed themepark operator Disney has announced a full-scale ban on the use of selfie sticks at its Disneyland Resort California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Paris, and the Tokyo Disney Resort.
Selfie sticks have already been banned at several US museums and attractions, including rides at Universal Studios and SeaWorld. Disney had previously imposed a ban on using selfie sticks for taking smartphone self-portraits on rides, but said that a total ban had become necessary to avoid the frequent holding up of rides and as a safety precaution.
Disney visitors must now leave selfie sticks at a storage facility at park entrances or take them back to their car.
